We have been SO busy in our classroom this week! Last week your children returned their permission slips to have access to a school Google account. This week we started using those accounts! On Monday, we started an animal research unit. The kids used some animal facts cards to write facts on graphic organizers. They had to decide which category each fact went into: Body Description, Babies, Food, Habitat, Geographic Location, Predators or Fun Facts. After they finished these notes, they used the information to write sentences and paragraphs about each category. Today the kids got to use the Chromebooks to start their very own Google Slides on their animals and they were VERY EXCITED! It was so quiet in here you could hear a pin drop! Once your child is done with their Google Slides, I will be able to give you access to them digitally.
Enjoy the extra days with your child this weekend! It looks like we may have a few typical fall days coming up, so I have encouraged the kids to get out and enjoy them. Your child does not have any assigned homework for over the break. They may read AR or work on word study, but I also want them to take some time to just be kids and enjoy some well-deserved down time. HOMEWORK
I am not in the classroom today, so please contact Diane in the office if there is any need today.
