I have been using flexible seating in our classroom for a number of years. This means that when students are working, they will have the freedom to find comfortable spaces around the room to work. They might be kneeling, at a standing desk, sitting on chairs or wobble chairs at a desk or table, working on cushions at a low table, sitting on a scoop chair with a clipboard, or sitting at a desk. There are many possibilities of what this can look like in a classroom. Research shows that students are able to focus and do their best work when they are comfortable. I am excited for your child to experience this innovative way of working in the classroom!
